Clean Water Day at Governor Dick Park

Schedule:

10-11am  Three esteemed speakers and a Q&A on agricultural best practices to preserve soil and protect water quality

• • • • • • Jim Hershey, a conservation-minded farmer and and award-winning pioneer in agricultural best practices in the Chiques Creek Watershed

          • Reid Garner, environmental engineer / entrepreneur experienced in designing ag and municipal BMP's

          • Matt Kofroth, Assistant District Manager at the Lancaster County Conservation District. Helps align potential conservation-oriented ag projects with funding and assesses their impact.

10-11am  A water-themed children's story followed by a watercolor painting activity. Best for younger children, and all supplies are provided. Grown-ups are welcome to stay and paint too.  And bluebird house raffle!

11-noon  Paw Paw walk - A guided hike to look for pawpaws, North America's largest native fruit, and to talk about the streamside woods they grow in. Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
