Creek Discovery Day: Exploring a creek and riparian restoration
A family-friendly event for explorers of all ages
Organized by the Chiques Creek Watershed Alliance
And part of Lancaster Conservancy Water Week 2026
Date Friday, June 12, 2026
Time 5-6:30PM
Location Just a few minutes southwest of Manheim (directions provided after registration)
What we’ll do
Discover the different trees, shrubs, and pollinator plants in this streamside planting.
Explore the creekside, the critters that live there, and see how the stream was restored.
Younger kids can assemble bluebird houses to take home. We'll also install a few on-site. Supplies are limited, so we'd like to target about 1 bird house per household.
Content suitable for K-6, but also OK for all ages
How you can participate
Space and supplies will be limited. Register early!
With planning & participation support from PSU Extension, MCHS FFA,
Lancaster County Conservation District, and the Lancaster Conservancy
